In which you are introduced to the author, a.k.a. Bridget McNulty, a.k.a. your writing buddy for the next six weeks.
Bridget McNulty is a passionate writer inspired by why people act the way they do. So inspired, in fact, that she had to start writing books about it. With a Creative Writing degree from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (that’s Amish country in the USA, if you didn’t know!) she spends her days writing novels and lying on her hammock drinking tea. This method proved rather effective, and she had her first novel, Strange Nervous Laughter, published in South Africa by Oshun Books in September 2007. Since then, she’s garnered an international publishing contract for Strange Nervous Laughter with St Martin’s Press in New York City (that’s hipster country in the USA, if you didn’t know!) and is hard at work completing her second novel, tentatively titled, Spectacularly Ordinary. She’s also a freelance journalist, writing articles for all kinds of magazines - from Real Simple to ELLE, O, the Oprah magazine to Woman & Home, and sometimes (often) book reviews for The Sunday Times. She was recently voted one of Cosmo’s Awesome Women 2008. Awesome! As if that wasn’t enough wordsmithing, Bridget has a very popular personal blog – www.blog.bridgetmcnulty.com - and is part of the ThoughtLeader blogging platform – www.thoughtleader.co.za/bridgetmcnulty She is also a diabetic, a baker (of distinctly un-diabetic food!), an avid reader, a walker, a Seinfeld fan, a girlfriend / friend / daughter / sister / aunty, and a movie watcher (preferably in cinemas, but on TV is okay too). But most of the time, she writes. For personal one-on-one email contact with Bridget, during Week 3 and Week 6 of The No Excuse Novel, sign up here. |
